Motonavi Barracuda was founded in 1989, thanks to the vision of Engineer Aldo Toffolo, who, after a long career in shipbuilding, embarked on an adventure as an owner of tourist boats in Venice. Through hard work and his passion for the lagoon and its city, the Barracuda brand became synonymous with reliability and certified quality in Venice’s tourist transportation sector.
Already a leader in group maritime transportation in Venice, the solid foundation laid by the founder, along with the expertise of his sons Alessandro and Nicolò (first as crew members, then onshore), allowed the company, known as Motonavi Barracuda, to enter the private tourist transport market in 2020. This was marked by the launch of three new exclusive and fascinating tours.
- The Murano Tour is an excursion to the renowned glassmaking island, following unique waterways that reveal breathtaking views of the Southern Lagoon with close passes by Piazza San Marco, islands like San Giorgio Maggiore, San Servolo, San Lazzaro degli Armeni, and the Venice Lido, as well as the Northern Lagoon with islands such as Le Vignole, Sant’Erasmo, San Michele, and Murano. A 90-minute stop on Murano includes a guided visit to an artistic glass furnace and free time to explore the island. Total duration: 3 hours.
- The Panoramic Lagoon Tour follows the Murano tour route without stops and lasts 90 minutes.
- The Full-Day Island Excursion allows visits to the Lagoon’s most famous islands: Murano, Burano, and Torcello, along with San Francesco del Deserto and its monastery, an oasis of peace and tranquility.
